Types of Commercial Roofing Systems
SINGLE-PLY SYSTEMS
A membrane roofing system that uses polymer-based synthetic material in flexible sheet or liquid form as an alternative to traditional built-up roofing. Some common examples are TPO, PVC, EPDM, & KEE made from a variety of bitumen’s, polymers, fillers, plasticizers, stabilizers and other additives, single-ply roofing products applied over various insulating material and secured with ballast, mechanical fasteners, or an adhesive.
BUILT-UP SYSTEMS
A continuous roof covering made up of various plies or sheets of saturated or coated felts cemented together with asphalt. The felt sheets are topped with a cap sheet or a flood coat of asphalt or pitch, which may have a surfacing of applied gravel or slag.
MODIFIED SYSTEMS
A heavy roofing material employing multiple layers of asphalt and reinforcers around a core of plastic or rubber modifiers. Installed with a special torching apparatus, a cold adhesive or hot mopped into place using methods of asphalt application.
STEEP SLOPE SYSTEMS
We install wide range of steep slope roof systems. Including but not limited to Asphalt Shingles, Fiberglass Shingles, Designer Shingles, Wood Shakes & Shingles, Clay & Concrete Tile, and Slate.
METAL SYSTEMS
Metal roof systems are typically classified in one of three categories. 1. Metal tiles which come in many decorative textures and finishes. There is stone coated steel, tiles that simulate clay tiles and cedar shingles. 2. Sheet metal roofs with exposed fasteners come in many profiles and thicknesses. 3. Standing-seam metal roof systems feature long, narrow panels. The vertical edges folded closed onsite to join the long panels making them watertight.
COATINGS
Roof coatings are designed for protecting and extending the useful service life of roof assemblies for new construction and more commonly, existing roof coverings, such as BUR, metal, modified bitumen, single ply membranes, and spray polyurethane foam. The most common types of roof coatings are acrylic coatings, asphalt coatings, polyurethane coatings, and silicone coatings.
